Biomechatronics is an interdisciplinary research field on integration
and fusion of mechanical components, electrical component and biology.
In this laboratory, we develop robotic upper and lower limb and systems attached to the human body targeted to enhance human-machine interaction and promotion of the activity and social participation of all mankind. Based on the knowledge of biomedical engineering, electrical & electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and information science, we model the human body as a computer-controlled machine (mechatronic) system to investigate physiologically appropriate sensory-motor control of the artificial body.we apply quality engineering methodology to conduct research and development on robust rehabilitation product, such as prosthesis, orthosis, therapeutic robot and wearable assistive and extensive systems. The key elements of actuators, sensors, and measurement and control system are studied and evaluated with motion analysis systems and biosignal instrumentation systems.
